Increase in vehicle crime in your area |
Dear Resident
We want to make you aware that we've seen a recent increase in auto crime in your local area. These have mainly been theft from vehicles in the Park estate area. Our officers are actively patrolling and investigating these incidents, and we are working hard to identify those responsible. We understand that this may cause concern, and we want to reassure you that tackling this issue is a priority for us. While our enquiries continue, there are a few simple steps you can take to help reduce the risk of further offences: Always lock your vehicle, even if you are only leaving it for a moment. This includes cars, vans, motorbikes, mobility scooters etc. Remove valuables such as bags, tools, wallets, and electronic devices–or keep them completely out of sight. Check your vehicle is secure by physically testing the door handles, as some signal blocking or relay attacks can prevent vehicles from locking properly. Install extra security measures to vehicle where possible. Park in well-lit or secure area where possible, or use a garage or driveway if available. Consider CCTV or video doorbells, which can act as a strong deterrent and provide evidence if needed.
